Virtual Studios

Virtual Studios (which you may be aware of already) are a company based in England Providing similar services to Ourlands. From their site its very easy to see what kind of studio setups work best ie (Studio Layouts, Colour Schemes Etc) and get some similar ideas for ourlands setups.

There bright Office Based Backdrops I think are the most realistic and most effective for giving a real world feel. I think something similar to these would work well with the live footage of cork city that were looking to work with.

 

Tv3 (New Zealand), ITV and Al Jazeera

All three of these studios were created by the same person using 3d modelling and motion graphics software created to very high and realistic standard with embedded editable graphics for the tv/computer screens contained within. 

TV3 Studio (New Zealand)

These backdrops are not keyed in but are displayed on screen behind the presenters which gives a very realistic effect. The colour scheme in place here (Blues, Whites, Oranges) is very effective in giving a bright and cooling feel to he studio and a similar scheme could work well for a green screen studio.

Al Jazeera
 
A simliar setup to New Zealands TV3 studio was used to create this backdrop for Al Jazeera News. Again note the heavy use of blues and whites.

TV3 use their virtual studio a lot for most of their broadcasts, a lot of them look a bit tacky and very unrealistic and rely heavily on blues and reds for their backdrops.

France 24 seem to be using a lot of back projection and ambient lighting for there studio setups which work very well but could be easily replicated with graphics and modelling in for a virtual studio.
